Exposition Cohorts

The multi-week course taught online to grow in teaching the Bible

Winter Cohort Registration Open Now!

Teaching the Bible is a lifelong pursuit.

We never “arrive” without room to grow. That’s why we offer three kinds of Bible Teacher Cohorts:

(all taught at a “seminary-level”)

  • Exposition Cohorts

Digging into the fundamentals of exposition, these courses help you take the next steps of growth in study and communication, whether you’ve been teaching since December or for decades.
    See more below.

  • Focused Genre Cohorts

Consider the plot arc of the narrative, the contextual urgency of the prophet, or the journey of the Gospel book—these cohorts help you tailor your message to fit the genre with the advanced interpretation you need.

  • Grow Cohorts

The best way to grow is by customized feedback on your own work, but that can be hard to get—unless you take the grow cohort, where you teach twice to instructors and engage in lectures to build on your current teaching practice.

Exposition Cohort

Our Exposition Cohorts are designed to help you set your feet firmly on the fundamentals of writing a Bible message and support you in taking new strides in teaching the Scriptures. Want to teach the Bible in a faithful manner, grounded in what the passage says and relating to the everyday needs of your audience? That’s what we’re doing. Biblical theology, homiletics, and delivery taught by trainers who have been teaching this for years. Coaching, feedback, and encouragement are at the heart of this 7-week cohort. And we pray you will find a team of other women Bible teachers in your cohort with whom you can partner for years to come.

Our next cohort will run February 6-March 20, 2025.

What you get

  • 7 weekly live video calls with your cohort, 2 hours of teaching and interaction (via Zoom) each session

  • The community of your cohort to build relationships and support each other

  • Access to any recorded sessions you missed

  • The opportunity to teach in front of an instructor and small group for encouragement and feedback

  • Assigned article or video to review each week with additional recommended books

Taught by

Taylor Turkington will teach the curriculum she’s honed over many years of training and more than 15 years of teaching. Her doctoral work focused on expositions, and she trained cohorts of women when she worked at Western Seminary and for The Gospel Coalition. Taylor will be joined by a wise team of women to offer their insights.

Who is this for?

This is for women who teach the the Bible! Women who are beginning and women who have years of experience. We never move on from the fundamentals of exposition, nor from growing when we receive feedback from others. There are always ways for us to take steps of growth in communicating the Scriptures to the heart, whether we are teaching at our local church, retreats, a Bible study, or conferences. The cohorts are capped around 20 women.

Price

Early-registration price is $350 before Jan 12, 2025. A ticket is $395 for the course after early registration ends. Have questions about a scholarship discount? Send us an email.

When
Our Winter 2025 cohort will run Thursdays, February 6-March 20, 2025 from 5-7pm PT/8-10pm ET.

“The Bible Cohort is for every woman! Whether you are seminary trained or you just have a desire to properly teach scripture, Taylor meets you right where you are and helps you grow properly in expositional teaching.”

Rhonda Shafer
The Wells Community Church, Fresno

“The Bible Exposition Cohort is a place for women who desire to make progress in their ability to teach God’s word so that women will know, and love God and the gospel. Even after more than 25 years of teaching the Bible and attending workshops, courses, and seminary, I believe I have learned more about keeping Christ and the gospel central to my teaching through this cohort.”

Vikki de los Santos Maya
Cross-cultural worker, Latin America

“This class is so valuable—super practical and affordable. If you teach the Bible, aspire to teach the Bible, or just want to know how to understand and study scripture better as you interact with others over it, you’ll be helped and encouraged by this class. You’ll be encouraged through connections with classmates, too.”

Want to create a cohort?

We believe it is advantageous to create cohorts of women teaching teams from the same church, equipping them to equip others, though we also create cohorts of women from multiple churches. Sign up for updates to join coming cohorts above or contact us if you’d like to create one.

Some churches will even create a shorter, 1-3 week, cohort after one of our training events for the leaders who want addition time with our instructors to practice and implement the numerous skills they learned at the event.

Here’s the response from a custom cohort:

"It was a privilege to join Taylor in taking a cohort of Arabic-speaking women from all over the Middle East through the sessions on exposition. Our women learned how to study texts of Scripture more deeply, connect those texts to the gospel and deliver expositions with applications that penetrate women’s hearts. The women are now using what they’ve learned to faithfully teach other women in their churches, and they’re continuing to encourage each other along the way."
