Bible Teaching Coaching
Theological editing, exposition honing, and feedback guidance. Relational and purposeful conversations so you serve better.
It can be hard to find help to grow as a Bible teacher.
Having worked with hundreds of Bible teachers and pastors on the content of their teaching, Taylor Turkington enjoys serving and supporting those who bring the Word to others. It is a joy to be able to provide theological editing and expositional honing as teaching is being prepared. She also offers feedback on video or audio recordings after the teaching has been given. Personal or team coaching is available for a consulting fee.
How does it work?
If you have a message you’re preparing, send an email to schedule coaching or make an appointment on Taylor’s calendar.
1
Send a description of your setting, audience, and passage/teaching assignment along with your teaching notes or manuscript.
2
Receive a manuscript review back within a week with written comments on theological editing and expositional honing and set up a 30 minute to 1 hour phone call to talk through the ideas.
3
If you’d also like feedback after the teaching, send an audio or video file for written feedback to help you consider steps to growth and encouragement in things you did well.
4
This process is designed to encourage, support, and serve you, as we all have steps we can take to grow in serving those we teach.
Typical rate for this service is $200 for the first meeting and then another $95 if additional feedback on a recording is desired. (For those who have tighter budgets, please reach out so we can discuss further options.) Two coaching sessions are also included in our Community Membership (Launching 2024).
-
Theological Editing
Nuance on doctrinal issues. Suggestions on questions you may want to address. Support legitimately connecting the text to the work of Christ. Biblical, historical, or literary context that may be missing. Ways your message can address theological issues pertaining to women.
-
Expositional Honing
Insights on tightening your structure. Comments on focusing your main point and grounding it in the text. Considerations for application to various audiences who will be present. Ideas about what to illustrate. Help sharpening the introduction.
-
Feedback Guidance
None of us ever arrive and are done growing in our teaching. Feedback is one of the best ways we grow. Whether it be a suggestion on structure, delivery, application, or connection to the gospel, you’ll receive encouragement on what you did well and a couple suggestions to make your teaching more effective.
What Others Have Said
“It is quite challenging to find mentors who understand both how to study God's word and how to teach it effectively. Taylor exceeded our expectations in both areas as she provided careful, clear, penetrating, and gracious coaching to our women's ministry teachers, with clear actionable feedback and worship-inducing insight into the Scripture.”
— Peter Krol, President of DiscipleMakers campus ministry
“When you work with Taylor you are developed! She coaches and supports me as a speaker. I finish the event feeling cared for, more equipped, and more confident that I am handling the Word of God well. Taylor builds in those she works with and connects us together.”
— Shana Powell, Executive Director US Missions for Cru
